Quick advice on injured wildlife
Find the location
Always try and get the exact location of the injured animal. The What3Words App can help you identify an exact location. Contact your nearest wildlife rescue centre or your local RSPCA branch.
Don’t handle injured wildlife
Avoid handling the injured animal wherever possible. Wildlife is not used to being handled. They can also potentially carry diseases so always be cautious around them.
How to help injured wildlife
If you have a blanket or towel available, place it over the injured animal if it is not moving while you call for help. Never feed or give wildlife fluids.
If you encounter injured wildlife, assess the situation carefully and contact a wildlife rescue or your local vet for further advice. Each of our guides below contains helpful information on what to do for the main wildlife we have experience working with.
Unfortunately at present, our wildlife rescue centre isn't open
We have grounds and premises to build a wildlife rescue centre, however the plans are in their early stages. At present therefore, we are unable to take in injured or orphaned wildlife.
